Mini-Projects

These learning activities are quite short, free-standing projects. Each takes a well known tune and gives you a variety of things to practise or learn through thinking about it. There may be bits of thinking, skills, knowledge and music notation in each of them.

You don't need an instrument or anything beyond your voice, hands and a pen or pencil.

Each of the projects is a series of questions in the Tasks section which guide you through things to think about and work out. You can check the Answers section as you go so you don't get lost. Use the answers to help you learn if something isn't clear.

There's lots of help in the Tasks section so that even people with little or no knowledge of how music works or is written down can cope and learn. Those who have some competence should be able to whizz through them, feel satisfied about getting lots of things right and perhaps check out one or two things. If you are very experienced dealing with music, these projects are not for you. But maybe you know someone who could enjoy them.
